‘It’s Going to Be a Very Tense Journey Home’

Royal rivals. Prince William and Princess Kate were rooting for opposing teams at a Saturday, February 25, rugby match. The Prince of Wales, 40, is the patron of the Welsh Rugby Union while Kate, 41, took over as patron of English rugby after Prince Harry stepped back from senior royal duties. So when Wales played England in the Six Nations Tournament at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, the rivalry was clear. “It’s going to be a very tense journey home. If we win today my wife won’t speak to me. It will be a tense evening,” William joked with reporters ahead of the game. England ultimately beat Wales with a final score of 20-10. Ahead of the match, the duo unveiled a plaque for the Sir Tasker Watkins Suite, a space for injured players, in front of members of the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust. The Duke of Cornwall wore a dark suit with a red tie for the plaque unveiling, and he bundled up with a red scarf to show his support for his team during the game. Kate, meanwhile, wore a chic houndstooth red and white coat from Catherine Walker for the event. She wore a black turtleneck under the peacoat. Their week started out at a much more formal event — the BAFTAs. William wore a velvet tuxedo jacket and Kate wore a white Alexander McQueen gown to the 76th British Academy Film Awards on Sunday, February 19. While the pair often attend due to William’s position as BAFTA president, the 2023 ceremony also marked the first BAFTAs since Queen Elizabeth II’s death in September at age 96. Helen Mirren, who played the monarch in several films, paid tribute to Elizabeth while William and Kate watched from the audience. “BAFTA’s relationship with Her Majesty was longstanding and BAFTA would

Sleb Safari: Prince William wore aeroplane slippers to the Top Gun: Maverick premiere

SLIPPERS are having a moment. Scratch that. Slippers are having their moment – and it’s been a long time coming. Footwear so comfortable, so dependable, so functional, so everything, was always deserving of the spotlight. And if Crocs can stage a coup and get away with it, slippers deserve their soft shuffle centre stage.

Swanky slippers are out and about at present and Akshata Murty – heiress, businesswoman, fashion designer, venture capitalist and spouse of this quarter’s UK prime minister – was snapped wearing a handsome pair that retail for £570. They were beauties. Soft tan suede with shearling lining, a good sole and chunky gold buckles on the top… what wasn’t to love? They’re by JW Anderson too, who you might know as the man who designed Rihanna’s SuperBowl outfit and who is less well known as a graduate of Magherafelt.

Does he have the freedom of Magherafelt? Can he herd sheep down the main street? Does he have a giant key? If the answer to any of those questions is no, Mid Ulster District Council needs to step on it.

Someone else whose love of a good slipper has been getting some much deserved attention is Prince William.

While liveblogging the Baftas a journalist for the Guardian shared a story about the prince’s preparations for the London premiere of Top Gun: Maverick. William and Kate had already availed of private screening thanks to Tom Cruise who also invited them to Leicester Square for the premiere. Such was the future king’s excitement that he commissioned a pair of velvet slippers with embroidered aeroplanes which he wore with black tie and, according to journalist Stuart Heritage, William pointed them out to each and every member of the cast

Kate Middleton Wore Her Go-To Outfit Combination While Sitting Poolside With Princess Charlotte

Kate Middleton has long proven she’s a proud outfit repeater, and her latest appearance confirmed she doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. On Tuesday, the Duchess of Cambridge arrived at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham wearing the same white white-alexander-mcqueen-suit-windrush-day” data-ylk=”slk:Alexander McQueen pantsuit” class=”link “Alexander McQueen pantsuit she wore just a month ago for Windrush Day (and even before that back in 2018), ringing true the sentiment that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Joined by her husband Prince William and their daughter, Princess Charlotte, Kate wore the stark white suit jacket layered over a plain scoop neck tank top and paired with matching cropped trousers to watch the swim tournament. The Duchess left her jacket unbuttoned for most of the event to show off a coordinating white belt with a silver buckle, and she finished the look by adding simple jewelry and parting her loose brown curls on the side.

Prince William also tapped one of his go-to outfit combinations for the event, wearing a navy suit jacket paired with a baby blue button-up shirt and khaki slacks. While the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge both looked regal for the occasion, it was Charlotte — whose appearance marked the first solo outing she’s taken with her parents — who truly stole the show.
