Sydney Sweeney stuns in Miu Miu gown at Berlin Film Festival

Fans are euphoric over Sydney Sweeney’s latest red carpet look at the Berlin International Film Festival: a shimmering scarlet Miu Miu gown completely covered with ruby-coloured crystals.

Styled by Molly Dickson, the 25-year-old actress wore the bedazzled design to the premiere of Reality on the weekend — but many of her Instagram followers thought she looked unreal, with many comparing her to a certain curvy cartoon character.

“Cute of Jessica Rabbit to lend her dress,” one commented on an Instagram video Sweeney posted of her red carpet arrival.

“She’s not bad, she’s just drawn that way,” another chimed in, referencing the animated icon’s tagline.

“Jessica Rabbit live action,” a third commenter adding, while a fourth asked, in part, “CAN I BE YOUR ROGER RABBIT.”

Other fans hailed Sweeney’s style as “smoking hot,” “drop dead gorgeous” and “absolutely unbelievable.”

A few even said she reminded them of a different cinematic bombshell, with one writing, “Kim K is trying to call herself the modern day Marilyn … Nah I think it’s Sydney.”

The Euphoria actress shared a series of photos in the alluring dress, thanking the Berlin International Film Festival “for welcoming our little film Reality with open arms.”

Added Sweeney, “It couldn’t have been a more magical evening with everyone and a big thank you to @miumiu for creating a dress of my dreams.”

She paired the look with fresh curtain bangs courtesy of celebrity hairstylist Glen Coco, while nail artist Zola Ganzorigt completed her glam with her signature “glazed” manicure.

This wasn’t the White Lotus beauty’s only major style moment in Berlin over the weekend.

Sweeney looked gorgeous in a semi-sheer black beaded Armani dress for an Armani Beauty x Harper’s Bazaar dinner, and turned heads in a cutout Alexander McQueen suit dripping with crystals and silver accents at the

Prince William, Kate Middleton grace BAFTAs red carpet for first time as Prince, Princess of Wales

Kristofer Purnell – Philstar.com

February 23, 2023 | 4:17pm

MANILA, Philippines — The 2023 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) was a big night for “All Quiet on the Western Front,” “The Banshees of Inisherin,” and “Elvis,” but the ceremony also marked the return of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The two royals made their first in-person appearance at the BAFTAs in two years. William regularly attended the ceremony since becoming BAFTA president in 2010, with Kate joining him since 2017.

In 2021, William pulled out from attending as his grandfather Prince Philip had just passed away — Philip was the first-ever president of BAFTA — while last year, the royal couldn’t attend because of a busy schedule.

This is also the first time William and Kate attended the BAFTAs as Prince and Princess of Wales, titles they inherited following the death of Queen Elizabeth II last year and the ascension of William’s father Charles to the British throne.

The 41-year-old Kate wore a white one-shoulder Alexander McQueen dress and black opera gloves, pairing them with gold jewels and earrings from Zara. Complementing her outfit was William in an equally simple black velvet Tom Ford suit.

Kate had actually worn the Grecian-style gown at the 2019 BAFTAs. The following year — her last BAFTAs attendance before this year — she wore a gold and white Alexander McQueen gown which she had previously worn to a state dinner in Malaysia eight years prior.

The 2023 BAFTAs featured a special tribute to Queen Elizabeth II introduced by award-winning actress Helen Mirren, who portrayed the late queen in the 2006 movie “The Queen.”

‘It’s Going to Be a Very Tense Journey Home’

Royal rivals. Prince William and Princess Kate were rooting for opposing teams at a Saturday, February 25, rugby match. The Prince of Wales, 40, is the patron of the Welsh Rugby Union while Kate, 41, took over as patron of English rugby after Prince Harry stepped back from senior royal duties. So when Wales played England in the Six Nations Tournament at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, the rivalry was clear. “It’s going to be a very tense journey home. If we win today my wife won’t speak to me. It will be a tense evening,” William joked with reporters ahead of the game. England ultimately beat Wales with a final score of 20-10. Ahead of the match, the duo unveiled a plaque for the Sir Tasker Watkins Suite, a space for injured players, in front of members of the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust. The Duke of Cornwall wore a dark suit with a red tie for the plaque unveiling, and he bundled up with a red scarf to show his support for his team during the game. Kate, meanwhile, wore a chic houndstooth red and white coat from Catherine Walker for the event. She wore a black turtleneck under the peacoat. Their week started out at a much more formal event — the BAFTAs. William wore a velvet tuxedo jacket and Kate wore a white Alexander McQueen gown to the 76th British Academy Film Awards on Sunday, February 19. While the pair often attend due to William’s position as BAFTA president, the 2023 ceremony also marked the first BAFTAs since Queen Elizabeth II’s death in September at age 96. Helen Mirren, who played the monarch in several films, paid tribute to Elizabeth while William and Kate watched from the audience. “BAFTA’s relationship with Her Majesty was longstanding and BAFTA would

Every Time Cate Blanchett Has Reworn a Red Carpet Look

As Cate Blanchett’s longtime stylist Elizabeth Stewart once said, “It’s chic to repeat.” And boy did she mean it. While some celebrities will reuse a look once or twice throughout their red carpet career, Blanchett is constantly digging in her archives to bring back her best looks for another go around. From the gorgeous lace Armani Privé dress from the 2014 Golden Globes to the Alexander McQueen suit with satin blue sleeves from her Where’d You Go, Bernadette press tour in 2019, Blanchett has given so many pieces a new life by wearing them for a second appearance. Back in 2020, she went all in on the rewears for the Venice Film Festival, brining along upwards of four looks we’d already seen before. But we’re not complaining. In fact, more celebrities should take note—not every event needs a new dress, and some of these pieces deserve more time in the spotlight. In fact, there are a few of Blanchett’s greatest hits we’d love see on the red carpet again (the one-shoulder periwinkle Jean Paul Gaultier gown she wore to the Oscars in 2005 comes to mind). So while we wait to see which old look Blanchett breathes new life into next, check out every time the actress has embraced chic repeats over the years.

Blanchett initially wore this suit from the Alexandre Vaulthier fall/winter 2022 haute couture collection to a screening of TÁR back in October 2022. Just a few months later and she pulled the double-breasted short sleeve jacket out again. This time, though, she ditched the turtleneck underneath and paired it with a slimmer, cropped pant. And if that necklace looks familiar to you, that’s because it’s the same strand of Louis Vuitton pearls Blanchett just wore with her

Eddie Redmayne Lights Up Social Media In Daring Saint Laurent Blouse at SAG Awards

A week ago, at the BAFTA Awards in London, he went shirtless in a black Alexander McQueen tuxedo-inspired jumpsuit. The sleek, minimalist look landed him on best dressed lists by The Hollywood Reporter, Esquire and Vogue.

Sunday, at the 29th SAG Awards in Century City, the best supporting actor for The Good Nurse went further out on a limb, sartorially speaking, walking the red carpet in Saint Laurent’s Lavalliere Heritage Blouse featuring an outsize bow. He paired it with wide velvet black pants and zipped boots from the fashion house. (Check out the star-studded SAG Awards red carpet arrivals here.)

More from The Hollywood Reporter

A number of fans on Twitter voiced their admiration for the look, with comments including “Eddie Redmayne serving as usual,” “dares & wins,” “Yasss,” “I love Eddie Redmayne’s style every single time,” and “Honestly looks so good. Never thought Eddie Redmayne would be the forefront of menswear on a red carpet but here we are.” Other commenters simply noted his ’edgy” take on red carpet dressing this season with comments like, “Always trying new things. He’s never afraid of using bold fashion.”

But other Twitter users were less enamored — “Oh no. No. No.” and “What is Eddie Redmayne wearing?” And one user wrote that Redmayne’s outfit made him look like King George IV, while another said he thought the actor was “cosplaying as Lydia Tár.”

For anyone who wants to follow Redmayne’s lead and get his Saint Laurent look, the blouse is in the fashion house’s autumn winter 2023 men’s collection, which was shown on Jan. 17 in Paris.

Those gloves, it turns out, were designed by royal glove supplier Cornelia James — who was known as the Queen’s favourite glove maker. The designer was granted the Royal Warrant in 1979, meaning it was a brand with Her Majesty’s royal approval. Queen Elizabeth II first wore Cornelia James gloves in 1947, when she accessorised her going-away outfit with gloves, following her marriage to Prince Philip.

As for Kate’s appearance at the BAFTAs; ‘She looked terrific,’ Peter James, the son of the late Cornelia James, said. ‘So stylish. Wonderful to see her wearing gloves — especially Cornelia James ones. Perhaps she will follow in the fashion of the late Queen, who always wore gloves in public.’

Kate appeared to be wearing the Melissa Velvet Opera Glove, which retails for £160. ‘Opera gloves are transformative; they have enormous leverage,’ Genevieve James, creative director at Cornelia James and the late designer’s daughter, told People. ‘They turn any event into an occasion and a dress into a statement.’

Kate Middleton just re-wore a stunning white gown from her royal wardrobe to the BAFTA Awards in London, and you might recognize it!

The Princess of Wales, 41, graced the awards ceremony red carpet over the weekend in a floor-length, one-shoulder Alexander McQueen dress that she previously donned to the 2019 BAFTAs.

Kate Middleton Re-Wears Her 2019 White Alexander McQueen BAFTAs Gown

The mom of four promoted sustainability with the familiar frock, and shimmered at the event with the help of dangly, gold statement earrings. Instead of flowers on the shoulder strap, this time it looked more ruffly and flowy.

She stepped out in gold heels, and posed alongside her husband, Prince William, who looked dapper in a classic suit and bow tie. Princess Kate wore her long brunette tresses down, parted in the center and styled straight with her signature voluminous blowout.

As for her makeup look, the royal went for a classic smokey eye with glittery eyeshadow, black liner and sky-high lashes. She also added rosy blush to her high cheekbones, and topped it all off with a shiny and subtle reddish lip color.

Back in 2019, Kate wore her hair up in a slicked-back bun to the BAFTAs, and also rocked a black, kohl-rimmed eye look. She also opted for sparkly, dangly earrings and a glistening wristlet, but accessorized with a white clutch rather than a black one.
