Our easy to use search is a great way to specify the exact traits you are looking for so that you can buy loose diamonds quickly and easily. Whether you are looking to create the perfect engagement ring, or simply want to design an elegant accessory, you will find the perfect stone for your taste and budget. You can save money by finding your own diamond, rather than simply going with whatever a retailer shows you. In addition, you will be better prepared to create jewelry of your own design that will match your vision perfectly.

There are many factors that can help narrow down the list of potential diamonds for you. The most immediate and likely most important trait for most people is carat. This is the weight of the stone on a scale, and is the main contributing factor in its overall size. Sorting by your ideal carat and price will help you find a great starting point for your search. From there, you can decide what other qualities you are most interested in.

The cut of a particular stone largely refers to its ability to reflect light and give off that signature shine we all love. A better cut grade will signify a diamond that has better proportions and finish and will be more luminous. Color is a grade scale that varies between completely colorless and a distinct yellow. Stones that are truly completely colorless are very rare, and very expensive as well. Find a balance between the color you want and the price you are willing to pay, as stones will go up in price the closer they are to colorless. Clarity is the last major trait to help narrow down your search. This refers to imperfections or markings in the stone that could reduce its

Our Evolving Love For Diamonds

We spoke to young Indians about their relationship with diamonds, which are now more personal, a symbol of love for themselves, and an extension of their personality beyond ordinary conventions

Diamond jewellery has long been a symbol of status and wealth. For generations, diamonds have been associated with exclusivity and perceived as a mark of success and achievement. But in recent years, the definition and perception of luxury have evolved, and the relevance of diamonds has changed for millennials and Gen Z, now the largest consumers of diamond jewellery. They are more conscious of ethical and sustainable practices and are looking for jewellery brands that are transparent about their sourcing and production practices. In addition, they are also more aware of their budget and are looking for high-quality jewellery, but not overpriced. This change in perception has influenced brands to pivot to cater to this market.

We spoke to young Indians about their relationship with diamonds, which are now more personal, a symbol of love for themselves, and an extension of their personality beyond ordinary conventions.

Agasthya

I associate diamonds with a feeling of prestige. Diamond is created due to pressure; I associate personally with that as well. If you want to be the diamond of your space, you need to be willing to face the pressure. As the famous saying goes, “No Pressure, No Diamond.”

In our generation, people have understood that there is no right time to buy a diamond except when you feel like you deserve it. Since it’s a status symbol, people tend to reward themselves when they achieve life goals instead of waiting for special occasions. I bought my first diamond ring on my 20th birthday when I hit 400k followers on my Instagram. It was a double celebration, and I decided what

How To Take Care Of Diamonds

Diamonds have been treasured for centuries for their exceptional beauty and durability. And they have been a symbol of love and commitment for decades now. We’ve all, at a point in time, wish to own a diamond for its brilliance and its symbolisation of love. But like anything that reminds us of love, diamonds should be cared for and protected too.

Diamonds, being the hardest substance known to us, can chip at the edges. They can also be affected by heat, chemicals, and everyday wear and tear. They can be stored in an air-tight box with cotton to protect them from scratch.

Also, an important thing to consider is that diamond rings or bangles should also not be worn when applying hairspray, creams or lotions. This can temporarily discolour the diamonds and make them lose their lustre. An important thing to consider is that while diamonds repel water, oils and grease can affect them.

So, how do we take care of diamonds? We got you covered with a detailed pointer for the same.

The most important thing to do is to store one’s diamond jewellery safely in a clean box. During the storage of diamond jewellery, it is advisable to keep it away from other jewellery. Not only can the exposed facets of one’s diamond jewellery scratch the metal surfaces of neighbouring jewellery pieces, but also other softer jewellery materials, such as gemstones and pearls, can get scratched by diamonds.

For the cleaning treatment, one can prepare a small bowl of warm water with a dash of dishwashing liquid and submerge one’s diamond jewellery for some minutes. If one notices some dirt accumulation that is not dissolving in the warm water on its own, one can use a small brush with soft bristles and remove the residue with a

Analysis of a Spectacular 2021 for Diamonds – and a Sobering 2022

In a recently published report titled “2021 Pipeline: Lamenting the Natural Producers’ missed Income,” IDEX Online’s expert analysts Pranay Narvekar and Chaim Even Zohar claim that, following a “dream year” for the natural diamond industry in 2021, this year could prove to be a tipping point for lab-grown diamonds (LGDs).

The authors begin by analyzing a “spectacular 2021.” 2021, they said, was “probably one of their best years in recent memory” for the diamond midstream and downstream sectors. Polished diamonds, for instance, increased by about 55% compared to 2020 to reach $22.1 billion “due to the bull-whip (or ripple) effect in the pipeline.”

Meanwhile, The penetration of LGDs in the US market significantly increased in 2021 as more stores “started experimenting with keeping LGD stock,” including LGDs being bought in significant numbers by bridal customers.

In a later section, Narvekar and Even Zohar analyze how the pandemic benefited the sector, as governmental Covid-stimulus packages produced “tangible benefits for the jewelry sector” in the US. The analysts explain that, while many did suffer in 2020 and a stimulus was necessary, “the continued flow of stimulus in 2021 was the cherry on the cake, leading to the tremendous boost for the US economy.” This was especially true for durable goods – a category which includes jewelry” – as consumers “seem to have channeled their excess disposable incomes into purchasing hard assets […].”

In a section titled “Time to pay the bills?” Narvekar and Even Zohar say that “the 2021 party, however, seems to be ending […].” Climbing prices and inflation, coupled with higher interest rates, coupled by the diamond industry’s “usual problems of low growth and insufficient profitability,” have led to a projected growth of “not more than 1-2% for the year at a retail level.”

California Court Blames Sotheby’s For Loss of $4 Million in Diamonds

A federal judge in California has ruled that Sotheby’s may be responsible for the loss of 45 Vivid yellow diamonds worth $4 million, IDEX Online reports.

In 2019, M&L Financial, a consulting and brokerage firm based in Dallas, Texas, took the gems to Sotheby’s New York for auction on consignment. They told Sotheby’s that they were the exclusive owners of the diamonds but later, according to papers from the Superior Court of Los Angeles County, the auction house released the gems to another party without telling the company.

According to court papers, Jona Rechnitz, owner of Jadelle Jewelry and Diamonds in Beverly Hills, owed M&L “substantial” sums. As security for his debt, he transferred ownership of the diamonds to M&L on the understanding that he could later buy them back at a fixed price. Rechnitz proposed M&L list the diamonds with Sotheby’s. Supposedly, Sotheby’s later released the diamonds to a man who was picking them up on Rechnitz’s behalf. The auction house did not notify M&L.

In its judgment, the California court reversed a judgment by a lower court and found against Sotheby’s. It said it was reversing “the judgment and remand for further proceedings regarding M&L’s breach of contract claim. We award costs to M&L.”

Largest pink diamond in 300 years discovered in Angola, company says

A big, pink diamond of 170 carats has been discovered in Angola and is claimed to be the largest such gemstone found in 300 years.

Named the “Lulo Rose,” the diamond was found at the Lulo alluvial diamond mine, the mine’s owner, the Lucapa Diamond Company, announced Wednesday on its website.

“Only one in 10,000 diamonds is coloured pink. So you’re certainly looking at a very rare article when you find a very large pink diamond,” Lucapa CEO Stephen Wetherall told The Associated Press.

The pink gemstone is expected to fetch a high value when auctioned, but Wetherall said he doesn’t know what kind of premium will be paid because of its colour.

Mine has history of large discoveries

Lulo is an alluvial mine which means the stones are recovered from a river bed. The Lucapa company is searching for underground deposits, known as kimberlite pipes, which would be the main source of the diamonds, said Wetherall, speaking from the company’s headquarters in Australia.

“We’re looking for the kimberlite pipes that brought these diamonds to the surface,” Wetherall said. “When you find these high-value large diamonds … it certainly elevates the excitement from our perspective in our hunt for the primary source.”

About 400 staff are employed at the Lulo mine, which has already produced the two largest diamonds ever found in Angola, including a 404-carat clear diamond, he said.

The pink gemstone is the fifth largest diamond found at the mine where 27 diamonds of 100 carats or more have been found, according to Lucapa.

The pink diamond will be sold by international tender by the Angolan state diamond marketing company, Sodiam. Angola’s mines make it one of the world’s top 10 producers of diamonds.

“This record and spectacular pink diamond recovered from Lulo continues to showcase Angola

Diamond Jewelry Advantage – Maaya Fine Jewels

Diamond Jewelry Advantage - Maaya Fine Jewels

Diamond Shopping can be a very overwhelming experience for a consumer. Diamond grading is a very subjective matter, and true grading of diamonds is at the epitome of this very subject. As a consumer, it can be tricky to decide whom to trust to ensure you are getting the right quality at the right price.

Unfortunately, due to immense competition, there are a lot of cases of malpractices taking place, and certain laboratories are giving false grading of diamonds and manipulating qualities. This has been happening for few years now as mentioned in one of our earlier articles on diamond prices.

We spoke to Nihar Parikh from Maaya Fine Jewels, a Manufacturer/Retailer of diamond jewelry since 1975, to help consumers recognize the right way to buy diamonds. He quoted, “At a consumer level, many customers find it hard to differentiate genuine quality. Sometimes, an avid buyer of diamond jewelry can recognize the quality of diamonds by seeing the shine and color (whiteness), compared to weaker diamond jewelry that looks grey, brown, or appears dull.

Its also important to understand the difference between buying from a retail store vs a manufacturer. A manufacturer like us can vouch for the quality and can give guarantees on the weights and quality of the product along with genuine US lab certification.

Also, our entire team is well-trained in grading diamonds, unlike a salesperson or a manager at a retail store. The goal at Maaya is to bridge this gap between the manufacturer and the end consumer.”

At Maaya Fine Jewels, they source their diamonds in the loose form from reputed DeBeers certified siteholders (companies that specialize in natural diamond mining and cutting) and set it in artistic jewelry designs under their own roof and supervision. This gives reassurance to the customer that
